The whole school took part in an art project and produce some excellent art work based on Gainsborough's picture of Mr and Mrs Andrew.
St Mark's worked in collaboration with the English National Opera and Ashmole and Vauxhall Primary Schools in this fantastic opera showcasing the life of Bessie Coleman.
Children across the school enjoyed a poetry workshop with Valerie Bloom, participated in Capoeira workshops, learnt about different countries in the world and sent work to children in Uganda and Kenya. This was part of our celebration of Black History and also the cultural diversity of our school population.
Children across the school looked great as they wore their national clothing and flag colours during cultural dress day.
Years 3 and 4 enjoyed an actioned packed Ancient China Day to start their Term 2 Theme on 'Inventions.' They cooked noodles, took part in martial arts, practiced Origarmi and learnt to speak Mandarin.

We had a fantastic World Book Week this year due to your efforts and contributions. Well done to all!
Year 5 went on an overnight stay at the CYE sailing centre on 19th September. It was a fantastic couple of days during which they learned a range of new skills and developed their ability to support one another and work as a team.
On Saturday 1st October, 40 members of the local community gathered together in the rain to transform the wildlife garden and help to prepare what will be a pizza garden at St Mark's Primary school.
An amazing day of fun, food and entertainment was enjoyed by all that attended St Mark's very first Summer Fair. Face Painting, Business Stalls, Emmanuel The Great, Football, Street Dancing, Gymnastic and even an Ice-cream van provided by Mr Angelo. What great fun...
Year 6 visited Rock UK in Tonbridge from 7th -11th March 2016
Pupils from Walhampton School came to visit us and participate in each of our class lessons.
What a fun day Year 2 had when they took a trip to Brighton Beach. A lovely sunny day for paddling at the beach, searching for shells and of course eating Ice Cream, Our friendly alien took a dip in the sea too.
Our Year 4 went our on a day visit to The Chocolate Factory in Brixton. They learnt how to make their own chocolates and came back with very messy Umpa Lumpa faces
Our Year 4 children learnt so much about the Anglo-Saxons when they invited Dom, a real life Anglo-Saxon, to come in to St Mark's for the day.
