Christian Distinctiveness
As a Church of England school, St Mark’s places Christian faith at the heart of our vision, values, and daily life. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus, we strive to create a caring, inclusive, and respectful community where every child and adult is unique and valued by God. Our Christian values that run through our behaviour system of CHART guide how we learn, behave, and care for one another, encouraging compassion, accountability, respect and trust.
Through collective worship, prayer, and opportunities for reflection, we support the spiritual development of all members of our school community. We aim for every child to flourish academically, emotionally, and spiritually, enabling them to live life in all its fullness and take our Christian values into our diverse society.
As part of the Church of England, we work closely with the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education, which supports and challenges us to live out our Christian vision with integrity and purpose.
Our strong and valued links with St Mark’s Church enrich school life through shared worship, celebration, and community involvement. These partnerships help deepen our children’s understanding of faith, encourage spiritual growth and strengthen our sense of belonging within the wider Church and local community. We also have valued partnerships with The Metropolitan Tabernacle and Hope Church, encouraging pupils to listen to, and engage with a wide range of Christian role models.
