sCHOOL History

You probably didn't know that St Mark's is the oldest Primary School in London still standing on its original site. It was built as the school for St Mark's Church in 1824.

Since then more rooms have been added at the back, but the original front has hardly been altered,  To begin with it was just two long buildings- one for the boys and the other for girls and infants, with accommodation for the head teachers in between.

Many of the original features can still be seen. Below are pictures and original documents dating back many years ago.
