Good morning super stars!

Today I have 2 notices to give you before you can get on with your work.

1. As next week and the week after should have been our Easter holidays, I will not be setting new work during that time. I will set lots of work today that you can spend the next 2 weeks doing, you can continue to do your home learning packs that we sent home, and there are links to free resources at the bottom of this page that you can do in the meantime.

2. I will be phoning each and every one of you on Friday afternoons between 1pm and 3pm just to say hi and see how you are getting on with your work. So I am looking forward to speaking to you this afternoon!

I have attached 2 SATs papers, the first one is just arithmetic and the second one is reasoning. Think carefully and remember to draw something to help you if you get stuck.

Paper 1   Paper 2

I have attached 2 reading papers. As always, read carefully and make sure you know where you found the answer in the text. I have also attached the answers so that your adult can check your work when you have finished.

The Wind and the Sun paper  The Wind and the Sun answers

I have attached a story writing task. Firstly you will need to put words to the pictures in the story board, then you can write the story in your own words. Don't forget to use describing words and joining words to make your writing more interesting.

Writing task

We have been learning all about food and where it comes from in topic lessons, so now we will do some art all about food too. A very long time ago there was an artist called Giuseppe Archimboldo who used food in his paintings of people.

Firstly, have a look at some of his art. Then try and create your own art work inspired by his work.

Wednesday 1st April 2020

Good morning team, and welcome to April!

It was so nice to see so many of your smiling faces on Monday and to hear how you have been getting on. I know that lots of you did not know about the work I have been setting here and that is not a problem. It would be a good idea to catch up on the work from last week that you missed as lots of it follows on from the last upload. Do not worry if you don't get to it all  - take your time, there's no rush

When you have caught up on last week's work, have a go at these tasks.

I have attached a sheet for you to complete about finding change.

Remember: the shop keeper will take away how much he needs and the change is what is left.

Please read chapter 3 of The Lazy Giant. When you have read it, make a list of all the verbs (doing words) you can spot and another list of all the adjectives (describing words).

For an extra challenge,  see where you would put more adjectives in to make the story more descriptive.

The Lazy Giant

This task is part of our topic lesson about where food comes from. There are 3 steps:

1. Pick some packets or jars of food from your cupboards or fridge.

2. Look on the packets to find where the food came from (it usually says on the back of the packet or sometimes on the front label).

3. Try and find that place on a map.

I have attached my own attempt at this work here:
